When I was 25 I went on my first horse-riding safari in the heart of the Masai Mara in Kenya alongside my father. It was a life changing experience to say the least. For ten days we loped alongside thousands of zebras and wildebeest, were stalked by lions and mock charged by elephants.

I was mesmerised by the pancake flat plains of the Masai Mara, the happy, shiny Masai, the wildlife and the indescribable experience of discovering a country from the back of a horse where the pace is slower and the experience richer. This led to a ‘quarter life’ crisis where I left behind my boyfriend (now my husband) business, mortgage, dog (Harry Noodle) and family for a year of travelling the globe from the back of a horse.

I began with a Christmas/New Year ride in Torres del Paine, Chile where my cheeks were whipped beetroot red from the angry winds and then found myself on a enchanted estancia in the heart of Patagonia in Argentina where I learnt to break in horses and worked alongside the gauchos. I then jumped on a plane and flew to Kenya (which had been colouring my dreams since I left) and worked as a horse-riding guide in the Dark Continent.

When I returned to Australia it was a natural progression for me to establish www.globetrotting.com.au an online travel agency that specialises in horse riding holidays. I’ve been fortunate to spend a lot of time discovering various horse riding safaris in Africa, South America and Mongolia and leading groups of up to ten riders throughout these countries. So, I know what makes these horse rides unforgettable. I’m constantly researching new countries and rides to make sure that I have the best selection of horse riding holidays and horse riding safaris on offer.

I’m a horse wanderer, dreamer, lover, writer and photographer who has an insatiable appetite to explore foreign cultures and unexplored lands from the back of a horse. Alongside my husband, we travel the globe documenting our horse riding adventures.
